Having a step target

Being in isolation may have quite a significant impact on your blood sugar levels, especially if you are normally an active person.

One thing you can do to encourage yourself to stay active is to set yourself a step target / step goal each day.

  • Using a fitness tracker, pedometer or step tracking app on your phone, see how many steps your are currently taking
  • Based on how many steps you are already taking, set yourself a target
  • Make your step target achievable. For example if you are taking 2000 steps at the moment don’t go setting yourself a 10,000 step target for the next day.
  • Increase your target gradually. When you are consistently hitting your target then increase it a bit more.
